Lifelong Learning at Salesian College Chadstone

At Salesian College, we promote dynamic lifelong learning. Staff learning is a key part of this and over the past few weeks staff have been engaged in several learning experiences including Faith Formation and Diversity and Inclusivity Workshop. At the Faith Formation session Staff learnt more about our Catholic Church’s role in providing opportunities for all young people, in particular our Salesian brothers and sisters in Samoa exploring the Church’s work through Mission (similar to what our students are learning about in Oratory leading up to Festival Day this year). In this session staff deepened their understanding of the life of Jesus, his teaching about the dignity of all human beings and the opportunity to ‘live life to the full (Joh n 10:10).

At the Diversity and Inclusion Workshop, we were fortunate to have Jen Branscombe from Gender Works nurture our understanding about Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace. It was an exceptional learning experience which will assist the College in developing a key policy this year. Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace is especially important to our community, as it has deep foundations in our Vision, Mission, and Values.
