Congratulations to our ACC Open Chess team who travelled to St. Patrick’s College Ballarat yesterday to compete in the second division of the ACC Open Chess Tournament, which is for students’ in Years 7-12.
The B team placed seventh out of the ten teams, while the A team was cloaked with glory- winning first place, taking the pennant, and being promoted to first division. Of note is Tristan Nguyen, the team captain, who won six of his seven games, and especially Neev Brahmbhatt in Year 7 who astonishingly won all 7 of his games and was the only player in second division of the tournament to do so.
