Year 8 Camp – 2024

The excitement was evident as the Year 8 students boarded the bus to Phillip Island Adventure Resort for camp. Arriving at the resort, they wasted no time diving into a packed schedule of activities over the next three days. They tackled thrilling challenges like the Flying Fox and Giant Swing, explored the sands of Smiths Beach, navigated the High Ropes course, and enjoyed a visit to A Maze’N Things.

Sharing cabins with 4 or 5 friends provided ample opportunity for bonding. It was a great chance to deepen existing friendships and forge new ones. Each day was filled with action and camaraderie, culminating in fun evening competitions featuring Australian trivia, music quizzes, and quirky facts about their teachers. The nights were spent watching movies, the Olympics, or engaging in lively board games and card games. After such full days, everyone looked forward to returning to their cabins for some well-deserved rest.

A touching moment came on the second night after dinner, when the group participated in a reflection session. They discussed the significance of family and read letters from home, taking time to pen heartfelt replies to express their gratitude for their families’ support.

The weather was perfect, and the meals were fantastic throughout the trip. A big thank you goes out to the teachers and support staff who dedicated their time to ensure the camp was a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
